How our artwork is made
A short, plain answer to the question we'd want answered ourselves: is this art real, and who made it?
It's AI-generated, then human-reviewed
Every design in the Nocturne Bloom catalog starts as an AI image generated with FLUX-dev, prompted around our recurring themes — poison gardens, widow bouquets, moonflowers, mourning botanica. Nothing here is a photograph, a scan of a physical painting, or drawn by a named illustrator.
It is also not a raw, unedited AI dump. Every design that makes it into the catalog is reviewed by a person before it's listed: composition, color, and print-quality fitness get checked, and pieces that don't hold up are cut. We keep a quality bar on generations before anything ships as a product, not just on the ones that happen to look good in a thumbnail.
What's genuinely photographed vs. generated
The artwork itself is AI-generated, as above. The product preview images — the phone case and art print mockups you see on each product page — are genuine renders pulled directly from Printify's production API for that exact design and format, not a mockup template or a composite. We built an automated check (verify_art_consistency.py, if you're curious) specifically so a preview image can never quietly drift from what actually gets manufactured and shipped.
Why we work this way
AI generation lets a small shop cover a lot of gothic-floral ground — poison, mourning, moonlight, widow's lace — without needing a roster of illustrators, while still curating hard for what actually goes to print. We'd rather say that plainly than let "original artwork" imply something it isn't.
